PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Block hosts its premiere crypto conference, serving as a catalyst for innovation and new opportunities across both the crypto and traditional finance sectors.
To prepare for this event, the Product and Engineering team worked closely with the Heads of the Marketing Department, the Revenue Team, external advisors, and the C-suite to ensure its successful execution. As The Block's first event of this scale, it presented a unique opportunity to craft a distinct visual identity and develop an interactive website to engage and inform the prospective audience.
To ensure a seamless experience for a potential Emergence attendee, sponsor, or speaker, I created this sitemap to help understand the full breadth of the project. The deliverables I worked on included:
Home Landing Page
Navigation Bar
Interactive Hero
Flexible Modules for Marketing
Landing Pages for Tickets, Speakers, Event Schedule, Partners, and FAQ
Detail Pages for information within category landing pages
Footer
Other design deliverables included:
Brand System
Marketing and promotion materials for multiple platforms
Sponsorship Decks
Since this was the first event The Block produced at this scale, there was no previous model to work off of or draw inspiration from. For that reason, I relied heavily on inspiration from pre-existing conferences. The main sources of inspiration were Paris Blockchain Week, SXSW, ConFig, and Coachella.
I had a lot of fun with this page, especially exploring hover states and the navigation system for mobile. We decided to optimize navigation for mobile since most event-goers would be using their phone to view the schedule.
